Revision malarplasty using the EZ technique
This single-author paper reports 11 revision zygoma reduction procedures performed from January to May 2013. Through a temporal incision under endoscopic guidance, the malar prominence and previous osteotomy line were re-exposed. Incomplete osteotomy of the zygomatic body and complete osteotomy of the arch were followed by tapping with a mallet to move the segment inward in a greenstick fracture pattern. Of the 11 patients, 8 responded to a survey; satisfaction with the surgical result was 4 out of 5, and satisfaction with anesthesia was 4.3.
